TECH  PACK

PROJECT ETHOS

this project began with the simple intent to making something “cool” and futuristic, no matter the manifestation. through initial iteration, we explored wearable design, intrigued by the intersection of the body and computer-aided design. shoes offered a range of exciting and dynamic possibilities and something each member of the team had been interested in previously.

IDEATION + RESEARCH

alongside ideation sketches, more in depth research regarding gait and ergonomics. analyzing the idea of barefoot soles was an interesting direction and inspired the idea of modularity between a midsole and outsole with different purposes.
with reference from a peer’s project with 3d-printed shoes, infill
pattern and density testing was done using pucks printed in tpu
deconstructed an existing running shoe from nike to better understand the layering of a shoe better.
